As Generative AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Large Language Models, and image generators) become more prevalent, NAIRJC has established the following guidelines to ensure transparency, accountability, and academic integrity.
Guidelines for Authors:
Transparency: Authors must disclose the use of Generative AI in their research and manuscript preparation. This includes specifying which tools were used and for what purpose (e.g., data analysis, drafting, editing).
Accountability: AI tools cannot be listed as authors. Humans remain solely responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and originality of the work.
Content Integrity: AI-generated text must be carefully reviewed and validated by the authors to avoid hallucinations, bias, or plagiarism.
Citation: Any significant contribution by AI should be appropriately cited or acknowledged in the manuscript.
Guidelines for Reviewers:
Reviewers must maintain confidentiality and should not upload manuscripts into AI tools for analysis or summarization, as this violates the author's intellectual property rights.
